Vacation in Corpus

I am finally getting to end of catching up! This blog is going to be a BIG one! The weekend after July 4th we went to Corpus to vacation and visit with my cousin Michelle and her husband Blair. We left E.C. around 6:30 on Thursday and headed out for Corpus! We were so excited, this was going to be a great vacation. I had lots of adventures lined up for us the whole weekend! We finally arrived to Michelle and Blair's house around 9:00. We were pretty tired but managed to stay up and have a few cold ones before hitting the sack.

Friday morning, we got up, got dressed and headed to the State Aquarium. The kids really enjoyed it, especially the Dolphin Show. It was really neat! They also loved the Stingray Flats. This is where they got to touch and feel the stingrays. It was pretty neat! We ate lunch there and continued to walk around and sight see. Jacob started getting antsy towards the end and started acting up. A quick trip to bathroom and a stern talking to was all that was needed for his attitude adjustment. We wandered around a little more before heading to the USS Lexington. Here are a few pics from the Aquarium:

Love it! Looks like Rhea is scratching the dolphins tummy!

Looking at all the dolphins.....so curious.

Next we headed down to the USS Lexington. It was AWESOME!!! Jacob was in such a good mood when we got there. He probably acted up just so we would head to the 'ship' faster! LOL! Lil' turd! Anyways it was great, he was having a blast. He kept wanting me to take pictures of him. We did ALL 5 tours on the Lexington. They were very interesting! There were LOTS of stairs! I don't see how all them soldiers could move about the ship so fast. I nearly fell down a few times on those stairs! Well..I'm also very clumsy though. I did have to explain one time to the kids (we were in a memorial for the Pearl Harbor fatalities) that all these people listed, had died for our freedom that we needed to pay our respects. That if it wasn't for them we would not be here today. Jonathan was fascinated with all the exhibits/tours. He gets really into it. He said he would like to go back one day without the kids, just to stay there longer and read everything. I told him it would probably take a week to do that. There is so much stuff in there. The kids loved that there were some things you could sit in or play with. Here are a few photos.....well actually A LOT!
