Jake's Bowling Bash!

Now that I have some time, I can catch up on everything that has been going on!

First off Jacob's Birthday was Sunday March 6th! My baby boy turned 5 years old! He is growing up way too fast! He had told me that he wanted to go bowling for his birthday, so I reserved a lane at the Bowling Center in El Campo. We didn't want to have a huge party, so we just invited the immediate family. We had lots of fun!  Jake started getting really restless and hungry, and whimpered a little bit but as soon as we eat, he was back to his normal self! I baked a cake for him and decorated it! ( I may not be the best decorator, but at least I tried, and it was lots of fun!) He played a lot and had some great friends/cousins to enjoy his birthday with him.

Wow! Color Wonder!

Opening his card....is that money?! ( This is where the money fell out of the card, and Jake fought with Daddy to get it back! He didn't want Daddy to hold HIS money!) LOL!

Spring is upon us......

A lot has happened since the last time I was on! We have been really busy, fixing the house, cleaning up, flowerbeds, trying to grow grass, and trying to keep up with Jake and Rhea. Two weekends ago, Jonathan and I started working in the yard. The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful weekend! The kids were playing and I couldn't help but keep from doing something. So I tilled up around the front of the house, to start my flowerbeds! ( There use to be a rock bed on one side of the house. I tore all of that out.) By the time that was all done, it was dark. Oh! Jonathan tilled up some of the yard and planted some grass! ( He is now an expert at grass growing! Hahah!!)

This past weekend, was fun and funnier, to say the least........It all started at Sutherland's, we had went there in the morning to pick out some bushes for my flowerbeds, and get some wood for the house. As we left there we were all soooo hungry, so I stopped by Jack in the Box to get some lunch! We went home and ate, after we were done eating Jake started acting silly. Rheanna had been outside eating, so Jake was walking to go outside when he ran smack into the screen door. He turned around looked at us and said "Where did this door come from?" Jonathan replied with "Its been there Jake! Since you have been born!" Jake: " Huh? When did this door get put here!" We just laid on the floor laughing......This was the start of our laughter for the day!

We then proceeded to walk outside and start working, I started digging and placing the bushes where I wanted them. But there was a few complications.....ROOTS! They were every place that I dug!! Needless to say after an hour and a half they were done! So we ran up to Sutherland's again to go get the flowers. When we got there I ran into Rheannas CCE teacher, we started talking and chit-chatting about the kids. Then here comes Jake around the corner....holding some flowers and told me "Kimmie, I want these flowers, they are pretty" and put them in the basket. So I asked him "Really? You want just those flowers?" Jake: " Yeahhhh" Me: "Well where's your money?" Jake: "I don't have any" Me: " Well then how are you going to buy those flowers?" Jake: " Welllllll.....you have money!" Both me and Rhea's CCE teacher chuckled and then parted ways. The flowers that Jake had picked out were pretty so we got a few more and then some pink petunias. I told the kids I think we need more color in the flowers though, so we walked down toward the Marigolds. As soon as we got there, Jake sighs real loud and says " OOHH! I love those!" So of course we had to get those as well. Rheanna wanted a hanging pot so me and her picked out a really pretty hot pink flower hanging pot! We left the store and got home and unloaded everything. Me and Jonathan then had to get ready to go to the St. Philips' Dinner and Dance that evening (it benefits the Catholic school). I took a shower and started get ready. Jonathan hopped in the shower next, as soon as he got out, Jake locked him out of our room. Jake said: " Can't come in yet, your girlfriend is not ready yet!" Jonathan: "Jake let me in!" Jake opens the door puts his hand up and says, " Umm...you have to wait. Your girlfriend isn't ready yet. And I'm talking to her right now!" He closes the door and locks it and runs and jumps on the bed and starts busting out laughing!! He was cracking himself up! Finally I told him to open the door Daddy needed to get ready as well. Then everything calmed down for maybe 5 minutes and Jake was at it again. This time he was outside came running in the house tripped and fell. Jonathan asked him worriedly " Jake are you OK?" Jake's reply was " Uh! Somebody pushed me in the house!" What? we both asked. Jake: "Somebody just pushed me in the house. Let me go see who that was!" He runs back outside and does the same thing, runs and trips inside. Jake: " Uh! They did it again!" (By this time me and Jonathan are rolling!) So Jake tells Jonathan, " I am going to go outside ring the door bell twice and see if they come!" Jake walks outside and you hear........ Ding Dong!................Ding Dong!.......Jonathan peeks outside and Jake is standing outside scoping out the place with his hands on his hips! LOL! Next thing you know he runs inside trips and falls again. He gets up and says "Man, they did it again!" Jonathan: "Well you didn't see them?" Jake: " No they are good! I didn't see them this time either!"  That little boy had us cracking up all day!!!! Jonathan said, 'What is sad is we don't have cable or dish tv, so where is he getting this stuff from?' I told him 'Leave my Jakey alone, he is using his imagination!' I love when kids use their imagination, it is so interesting what they come up with!!

The next day we went to church in the morning, and afterwards ate lunch, cleaned house, then played outside and started on the flowers to go in the flowerbeds. Rheanna was so happy! I had bought her a hand shovel and rake, so she was really eager to help. I sit both Rhea and Jake down and showed them how to dig the hole, take the flower out of pack, and plant it. Rhea thought it was the coolest thing! Jake on the other hand just wanted to see what it would look like after 'Rhea and I ' finished planting everything. Rhea is a natural at gardening. She placed flowers in the right spot, not too close and not to far apart. She did pretty much one flowerbed all by herself. I was so proud of her! It was nice to have some quality time with just me and her doing something we both liked.  Here are a few pictures of my lil' helpers:

The start of the flowerbeds!! You can see the bucket I filled with all the rocks that were there before!

Jake acting like he is helping!

My lil' greenthumb partner!!

Such a big helper! And great at it too!

Now if only our grass would start growing and turn pretty green everything would be perfect. It is getting there just taking a while.

Well until next time..........God Bless!

Get Well Soon.....I need some HELP!!

Everyone gets sick at one time or another. These are all times no one likes. You are tired, unmotivated, feeling down right wore out, and just want to be left alone. On the other hand, your spouse, mom, dad, or even sister and brothers feel the same way. What I'm referring to is the way my family works. Jonathan and I work as a team on everything from keeping the house clean, to bills, to staying in tune with the kids. So when one of us falls behind, we all fall behind....
This past weekend we went down to deer camp. On the way down there Jonathan started coughing and thought maybe he might be getting sick. And yes indeed he was! Sunday when we came home he curled up on the couch and tried to sleep, and he kept saying that he was cold. (This is not normal at all for him. He is always on the go.) Later we went to Church and afterwards went and ate at Mr.Gatti's Pizza. I knew that something was up, cause Jonathan always goes back for 2nd, 3rd, and even sometimes 4th's. When we left he said to hurry home he wasn't feeling well. When we got to the house, he went to the bathroom, but never returned. So I tucked the kids in bed, we said our prayers, and gave them goodnight hugs and kisses. When I got to our room, Jonathan was underneath all the blankets and had another one on top of him with the heater blowing right on him!  As I climbed into bed I touched his forehead, he was BURNING up, sweating like crazy, but kept telling me he was sooo COLD! He got so hot during the night I had to take his temperature. I was afraid he was getting too hot! I didn't get hardly any sleep that night, til right about 12:30 his fever broke. Then I finally went to bed. And this is how it all began.........

The next day was even worse! When I got home from work, he just looked horrible. So he just laid on the couch the whole afternoon and night. I made him get up to eat and take a shower, but that was all he was willing to do. Which leads me to this case.......Jonathan and I are a team. We do everything together. Therefore we each help keep the house clean. Jonathan washes dishes, takes out the trash, and cleans the kitchen. I do all the laundry, sweep and mop all floors, and keep everything else around the house tidy. With him being sick, this put a halt to everything! I was so behind on laundry, dishes, floors, and etc. Not to mention I have to attended to Rheanna and Jake, and make sure Jonathan is ok. This has been one heck of a week! It would be different if I stayed at home all day, but that would be to easy now, wouldn't it! I am so ready to get my team mate back! I finally got the kitchen cleaned, and somewhat have caught up on the laundry, and as for the floors....that is a never ending job when you have kids!!! Thanks to Jonathan's Mom I was able to accomplish all these things last night. She had made us some WONDERFUL potato soup! It was delish! After getting all this done last night I was wore out, so I hit the sack!

Crying, screaming, crying, crying, crying at 2:30 this morning is what I awoke to. I jumped up out of bed and went to see what was wrong...possibly a bad dream, or just someone scared.......what I arrived to was the one thing I didn't want to happen.........Jacob was crying and saying he was hot, I felt him and he was burning up! NO! Not him too! And....yes, now Jacob is sick! What a night! Luckily Jonathan had heard him and woke up too. So I told Jake to go lay on the couch with Daddy. I gave him a cold wet wash cloth and he finally dozed off. That is until 5:30 when he woke up again and started the whole routine over. Once again Jonathan was up getting ready for work, so he was able to calm him down and give him some medicine.

As you can see Jonathan is starting to feel better, so I'm starting to get my teammate back again!!! Yay! But he is still sick, at least I getting some help though. This has been a tough week and I am so ready for the weekend. Maybe...just maybe..I can get to sleep the whole night on Friday. I am going to pray that I do, and that everyone FULLY recovers, so we can get back to normal life! I miss our normal routine of playing til supper is done, then bathes, tucking them into to bed, saying our prayers, and hitting the sack, with no sickness or crying! I also miss all the help, you never know how much one another does, until its gone!

As for me and Rheanna we are doubling up on Vitamin C. Rheanna has also been a big help since the boys have gotten sick. She has helped put away all the groceries, and even helped me semi-clean the kitchen. Very proud of her, for not getting frustrated about not getting all the attention. I think she finally realizes we need help too every once in a while.

Until Next time......God Bless and Take Care!

VEGAS!

Is Everyone ready for take off???????

So, February 2nd at 7:25am we got on our plane and flew off to Vegas!!  Jonathan, Me, Mom, Dad, J.C., and Katelynn all landed in Vegas at 9:00am, 11:00 Texas time, I was so happy to step off that plane. I have flown since I was in the 1st grade and still I am not use to seating on a plane for 3 hours straight. On the other hand this was Jonathan's 1st time to fly EVER! At first he was a little hesitate but after we took off he LOVED it! When we got out of the airport there was a man standing holding a sign for all to see that said, SUSAN ORSAK, I turned back and looked at Mom. She was going crazy with excitement! ( The trip was for Mom's 50th Birthday, My super LATE 21st Birthday, Along with J.C. and Katelynn's 21st Birthday (they both just turned 21 in January!)

Mom in her limo ride to our hotel!

Vegas was a blast! But our first day there was kinda different, Vegas was dead! All the flights coming in or leaving out had been cancelled so there wasn't very many people there. Which was great for us, we got enjoy things without being rushed or jammed packed into anywhere. Our first night there we got to go to the TERRY FATOR show at the Mirage! He was so awesome! If you haven't heard or seen him go look him up on you tube. (He was the winner on America's Got Talent) After that and walking around the strip for a while, we were completely wiped out! So we went back to the hotel and called it a night! The next morning I was up at 8:00 ready to go. I woke Jonathan up and we headed down stairs after getting breakfast we decided to walk down to the Pawn Shop, you know the one on T.V. called "Pawn Stars". Of course we had to go there just to check it out!

 Do you recognize this sign?

This was inside the Pawn Shop in front of a pinball machine that is going to be seen on TV!

After seeing all that we headed back to go gamble, therefore I didn't take hardly anymore pictures! But our last day/night there we did lots of wondering around and sightseeing! The next few pictures are from the Stratosphere, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, and The Venetian!

The Stratosphere building

The Venetian is just beautiful one of Jonathan's favorite places!

Inside the Venetian, it was so pretty, the buildings, river, and ceiling were all made to look like Venice.

In the Venetian on the ceiling, they had such beautiful paintings everywhere, and such detail into everything!

The next few pictures are from Downtown Vegas! And if we ever go back we will definitely spend all of our time down there! We loved it! So much more relaxed, and fun entertainment all day and night! The Golden Nugget and Binions were our most FAVORITE places to be! Of course that is where we won all of our money too!

Vegas was an absolute blast. And we will definitely be going again! Well as soon as we can re-cooperate from our first trip, financial, and physically! LOL! jk! But I will say that when we do go back we will stay downtown and probably never leave!!!

Move out of the way......

Decided I had to write a blog today since, I won't be around the computer for the rest of the week!

This Texas weather is CRAZY!!! We were wearing shorts the other day and now you have to bundle up before you even think about taking a step outside! We were outside playing in beautiful weather on Sunday. Jacob and Rheanna were riding there bikes. I told Jonathan I think it is time for Jacob to take off the training wheels on his bike. He said that is exactly what he was thinking. So we took his training wheels off, and.....he did GREAT! He was just a peddling away. He was doing really great until he started getting frustrated that he couldn't make a turn.(He was trying to make really sharp turns) I told him it takes practice and that you have to make wide turns. By this time he was starting to complain and wanted his training wheels back on. Finally we put them back on and told him the next day they are coming off. He did really well, he just doesn't like change. And taking off the training wheels is a change for him, he will get use to it though. I think he was a little scared to try doing it by himself.
First time of bike with no training wheels!

Go Jake Go!

Move out of the way Sissy, Jacob is coming through!

Look at him go!

And, off he goes again!

Stopped all by himself-and didn't fall down!

We were so proud of him! He did so good for the first time with no training wheels. Even Rheanna was cheering him on! Hope everyone has a great week!
Until Next Time.........God Bless!

One Jammin' Weekend!

Jacob and Rhea at Monster Truck Jam!

Saturday was an eventful day! My Mom and I went shopping in the early morning for Vegas clothes! Very excited we both found a dress and got some other bargain buys while we were there!! So excited for Vegas only 7 more days! After I got back me and Jonathan got the kids cleaned up and headed to the Monster Truck Jam! The kids had no idea where we were going....it was their surprise! It was a very peaceful ride up there both of the kids fell asleep, so me and Jonathan got to actually talk in peace in quiet......and how nice it was! When we got closer to the Reliant Stadium Rhea woke up and Jacob....well...we were still trying to wake him up when we got to the Stadium! LOL! It was so cold once we stepped out of the car! Brrr! I was power walking the kids so we could get to our seats! Which luckily they were down low so we didn't have to walk very far! We grabbed a coke and sprite to drink which by the way is such a rip off! But I'm sure you already know that! Got to our seats just in time for us to settle down and get situated before the show! It was a great show! And the kids really enjoyed it!

Daddy and Jake at Monster Truck Jam
Rheanna and me at the Monster Truck Jam!

The show was really cool and I enjoyed it just as much as the kids did! This was Jacob and my first time to go. Rheanna and Jonathan have gone before and were so excited to go back and see the action!

The beginning of the show

The original Gravedigger!

The original Gravedigger doing a jump and the current Gravedigger crashed by the wall!

We had such a blast and will definitely be going back next year! Although I have to figure out how to get out of the parking lot a lot faster than what it took us this time. It was so jammed packed that when we got to our car we waited 30 min. in our parking spot cause the traffic was so bad we couldn't get out. Rheanna even told me "Kimmie, just turn off the car so we can save on gas." LOL! So funny, I guess my bargain shopping and saving money is coming out in her! At least she is learning from the best!! LOL!
Well until next time.......God Bless!
