Jake's Bowling Bash!

Now that I have some time, I can catch up on everything that has been going on!

First off Jacob's Birthday was Sunday March 6th! My baby boy turned 5 years old! He is growing up way too fast! He had told me that he wanted to go bowling for his birthday, so I reserved a lane at the Bowling Center in El Campo. We didn't want to have a huge party, so we just invited the immediate family. We had lots of fun!  Jake started getting really restless and hungry, and whimpered a little bit but as soon as we eat, he was back to his normal self! I baked a cake for him and decorated it! ( I may not be the best decorator, but at least I tried, and it was lots of fun!) He played a lot and had some great friends/cousins to enjoy his birthday with him.

Opening his card....is that money?! ( This is where the money fell out of the card, and Jake fought with Daddy to get it back! He didn't want Daddy to hold HIS money!) LOL!

Spring is upon us......

A lot has happened since the last time I was on! We have been really busy, fixing the house, cleaning up, flowerbeds, trying to grow grass, and trying to keep up with Jake and Rhea. Two weekends ago, Jonathan and I started working in the yard. The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful weekend! The kids were playing and I couldn't help but keep from doing something. So I tilled up around the front of the house, to start my flowerbeds! ( There use to be a rock bed on one side of the house. I tore all of that out.) By the time that was all done, it was dark. Oh! Jonathan tilled up some of the yard and planted some grass! ( He is now an expert at grass growing! Hahah!!)

This past weekend, was fun and funnier, to say the least........It all started at Sutherland's, we had went there in the morning to pick out some bushes for my flowerbeds, and get some wood for the house. As we left there we were all soooo hungry, so I stopped by Jack in the Box to get some lunch! We went home and ate, after we were done eating Jake started acting silly. Rheanna had been outside eating, so Jake was walking to go outside when he ran smack into the screen door. He turned around looked at us and said "Where did this door come from?" Jonathan replied with "Its been there Jake! Since you have been born!" Jake: " Huh? When did this door get put here!" We just laid on the floor laughing......This was the start of our laughter for the day!

We then proceeded to walk outside and start working, I started digging and placing the bushes where I wanted them. But there was a few complications.....ROOTS! They were every place that I dug!! Needless to say after an hour and a half they were done! So we ran up to Sutherland's again to go get the flowers. When we got there I ran into Rheannas CCE teacher, we started talking and chit-chatting about the kids. Then here comes Jake around the corner....holding some flowers and told me "Kimmie, I want these flowers, they are pretty" and put them in the basket. So I asked him "Really? You want just those flowers?" Jake: " Yeahhhh" Me: "Well where's your money?" Jake: "I don't have any" Me: " Well then how are you going to buy those flowers?" Jake: " Welllllll.....you have money!" Both me and Rhea's CCE teacher chuckled and then parted ways. The flowers that Jake had picked out were pretty so we got a few more and then some pink petunias. I told the kids I think we need more color in the flowers though, so we walked down toward the Marigolds. As soon as we got there, Jake sighs real loud and says " OOHH! I love those!" So of course we had to get those as well. Rheanna wanted a hanging pot so me and her picked out a really pretty hot pink flower hanging pot! We left the store and got home and unloaded everything. Me and Jonathan then had to get ready to go to the St. Philips' Dinner and Dance that evening (it benefits the Catholic school). I took a shower and started get ready. Jonathan hopped in the shower next, as soon as he got out, Jake locked him out of our room. Jake said: " Can't come in yet, your girlfriend is not ready yet!" Jonathan: "Jake let me in!" Jake opens the door puts his hand up and says, " Umm...you have to wait. Your girlfriend isn't ready yet. And I'm talking to her right now!" He closes the door and locks it and runs and jumps on the bed and starts busting out laughing!! He was cracking himself up! Finally I told him to open the door Daddy needed to get ready as well. Then everything calmed down for maybe 5 minutes and Jake was at it again. This time he was outside came running in the house tripped and fell. Jonathan asked him worriedly " Jake are you OK?" Jake's reply was " Uh! Somebody pushed me in the house!" What? we both asked. Jake: "Somebody just pushed me in the house. Let me go see who that was!" He runs back outside and does the same thing, runs and trips inside. Jake: " Uh! They did it again!" (By this time me and Jonathan are rolling!) So Jake tells Jonathan, " I am going to go outside ring the door bell twice and see if they come!" Jake walks outside and you hear........ Ding Dong!................Ding Dong!.......Jonathan peeks outside and Jake is standing outside scoping out the place with his hands on his hips! LOL! Next thing you know he runs inside trips and falls again. He gets up and says "Man, they did it again!" Jonathan: "Well you didn't see them?" Jake: " No they are good! I didn't see them this time either!"  That little boy had us cracking up all day!!!! Jonathan said, 'What is sad is we don't have cable or dish tv, so where is he getting this stuff from?' I told him 'Leave my Jakey alone, he is using his imagination!' I love when kids use their imagination, it is so interesting what they come up with!!

The next day we went to church in the morning, and afterwards ate lunch, cleaned house, then played outside and started on the flowers to go in the flowerbeds. Rheanna was so happy! I had bought her a hand shovel and rake, so she was really eager to help. I sit both Rhea and Jake down and showed them how to dig the hole, take the flower out of pack, and plant it. Rhea thought it was the coolest thing! Jake on the other hand just wanted to see what it would look like after 'Rhea and I ' finished planting everything. Rhea is a natural at gardening. She placed flowers in the right spot, not too close and not to far apart. She did pretty much one flowerbed all by herself. I was so proud of her! It was nice to have some quality time with just me and her doing something we both liked.  Here are a few pictures of my lil' helpers:

The start of the flowerbeds!! You can see the bucket I filled with all the rocks that were there before!

My lil' greenthumb partner!!

Such a big helper! And great at it too!

Now if only our grass would start growing and turn pretty green everything would be perfect. It is getting there just taking a while.

Well until next time..........God Bless!
